Welcome
To Sycamore Cottage
Sycamore Cottage self-catering accommodation is located on the outskirts
of The City of Salisbury in Wiltshire in the village of Quidhampton.
Quidhampton is situated about two
miles to the west of the ancient City of Salisbury Wiltshire. Salisbury is
dominated by the medieval Cathedral c.1220 and its magnificent spire, a later
addition, rising to a breathtaking height of 404ft/123m, making it the tallest
spire in England. Within the ancient walls of the Cathedral Close itself, a
fine array of English architecture can be found, where the likes of Sir
Christopher Wren have made significant contributions. The oldest building in
The Close is the Medieval Hall. Some of the houses are open to the public. In
fact a visit to the Cathedral and Close is a family outing not to be missed!
Salisbury
itself is a thriving shopping centre with hundreds of shops, inns and eating
houses to satisfy any need. The street layout was originally designed as a
grid system called 'chequers' and several areas in the City still enjoy their
medieval titles. It is in fact rumoured that the design for the layout of
the streets of New York City was originally inspired by that of Salisbury
